Offering ultimate value-for-money, this tour showcases Kenya’s most famous park, the Masai Mara, before crossing into Tanzania’s mighty Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. The safari accommodation features a fine selection of small tented safari camps. Finally, as the perfect contrast to the traditional East African safari, it also features four nights of relaxation, historic discovery and Indian Ocean pleasure on the magical island of Zanzibar.

PACKAGE ITINERARY

DAY 1 - Arrival in Nairobi

When you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to the five-star Boma Hotel. You can have dinner (not included) at the hotel or at any of the cities many restaurants.

DAY 2 - Nairobi to Masai Mara

You’ll leave the hotel after breakfast and travel up the floor of Rift to arrive in the famous Masai Mara National Reserve and at the Entim Mara Camp in time for a late lunch. Enjoy your first game drive in the Mara after lunch where you’ll be treated to breath-taking views and game viewing. You’ll return to the camp where you can relax on your private veranda and enjoy sundowners before having dinner in the central restaurant. Distance / drive time: 270m / 5 hours

DAY 3 - On safari in the Mara

You’ll spend the entire day on safari in the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are at the camp. When it comes to game viewing, there is nowhere in Africa richer in wildlife or more eventful in encounters than the Mara. A pristine wilderness of haunting beauty, it promises its visitors a profusion of wildlife, prolific bird life and the unprecedented opportunity of spotting the big five. All meals are taken at Entim Mara Camp.

DAY 4 - On safari in the Mara

You have yet another exciting day in Masai Mara to enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. All meals are taken at Entim Mara Camp.

DAY 5 - The Mara to Serengeti

After breakfast you’ll travel to the local airstrip in Masai Mara for a scheduled Airkenya Flight to Serengeti Seronera Airstrip via Migori and Tarime Airstrips near the border of Kenya and Tanzania respectively. The flight, which departs Masai Mara at approximately 09:10, is a 30-minute trip to the Migori Airstrip. Once you arrive, you’ll take a road transfer across the border for immigrations and custom procedures, before continuing to Tarime Airstrip where you’ll connect to a Tanzanian domestic flight that departs at 10:30. You’ll arrive at the Serengeti National Park and Angata Serengeti camp at about 11:05. The Angata Serengeti camp is ideally located for safari game drives, and optional activities such as balloon safaris and guided walks. After lunch you’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive. You’ll have dinner at the camp. Distance / drive time: 250km / 5 hours

DAY 6 - On safari in the Serengeti

With a full day on safari (morning and afternoon game drives included) available, your options are wide open. The Serengeti, whose Masai name “Siringet” translates to “the endless plains”, offers unparalleled ornithological opportunities and an unrivalled natural arena where the glory and harmony of nature can be appreciated as nowhere else on earth. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at Angata Serengeti Camp.

DAY 7 - On safari in the Serengeti

You have yet another exciting day in the Serengeti to enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at Angata Serengeti Camp.

DAY 8 - To the Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge

After breakfast, you’ll leave the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge – the “Cradle of Mankind” – and site of one of the most important and controversial Palaeolithic finds in recent history. After lunch at the site, you’ll continue to Ngorongoro Crater and onto your overnight camp. You’ll arrive at the Angata Ngorongoro Camp, where you can spend the afternoon relaxing before having dinner. Distance / drive time: 145 km / 3 hours

DAY 9 - Morning Tour of Ngorongoro Crater, afternoon road transfer to Maramboi Camp (Tarangire)

After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a half-day’s game drive in the crater. Often referred to as the “eighth wonder of the world”, Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s best-known wildlife arenas. A World Heritage Site, it is also one of the largest volcanic craters in the world – it spans almost 20km wide, 610-760m deep and covers a total area of 264 square kilometres. An utterly unique biosphere, the crater harbours grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a freshwater lake and a glorious variety of birdlife, all enclosed within its towering walls. Due to its high concentration of wildlife, close-range viewing opportunities and striking scenery, it’s also Tanzania’s most visited destination. After the crater tour, you’ll travel to Tarangire, where you’ll arrive in the late afternoon for check in, dinner and overnight at Maramboi Tented Camp. Distance / drive time: 150 km / 2.5 hours

DAY 10 - On safari in Tarangire National Park

You’ll spend a full day on safari in Tarangire National Park with full-day game drives. Breakfast, lunch (picnic style) and dinner are served at the camp.

DAY 11 - Arusha to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Arusha where lunch will be served in a local restaurant. You’ll be transferred to Arusha Airport for your flight (cost not included in this package) to Zanzibar. When you arrive, you’ll be met by one of our representatives who will transfer you to the Ocean Paradise Resort. This resort offers crystal blue waters, a wide selection of dining experiences (breakfast and dinner are included in your package), extensive sports, and a wide range of cultural entertainment (some or all of which may be charged additionally). Distance / drive time (to Arusha): 150 km / 2.5 hours

DAY 12, 13 & 14 - On the “spice isle” of Zanzibar

Enjoy three days of leisure in Zanzibar, where activities at the hotel include (some are charged) swimming, snorkelling, sea kayaking, diving, water sports, dhow trips and nature trails, as well as visits to a dhow workshop and the brooding caverns of the Mangapwani Slave Caves where slaves were hidden after the abolishment of slavery made their shipment illegal. Other places of interest in Stone Town and surrounds include the Portuguese Fort, the Sultan’s Palace, the old Dhow Port, the Old Slave Market, the House of Wonders, the Old Dispensary, the home of the slaver, Tippu-Tip, the Livingstone House, The Hamamni Bath, The National Museum, The Chukwani Palace, The Jozani Forest (the last red colobus monkey sanctuary), The Mtoni Palace ruins, The Maruhubi Palace ruins and the Persian Baths of Kidichi. Breakfast and dinner (lunch is not included in your package) are provided at the resort.

DAY 15 - Depart

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the Zanzibar airport.
