This safari explores some of Kenya’s and Tanzania’s premier destinations. Leaving the hustle and bustles of the city behind, you’ll travel to Ol Pajeta Conservancy for two nights at Sweetwaters Camp, before heading to the Rift Valley for two nights in Lake Naivasha. You next stop? The famous Masai Mara, Lake Victoria, Serengeti and Ngorongoro, with the trip culminating in the serenity of Arusha’s town. This safari offers ample time to enjoy savour each location, allowing for the ultimate East African safari experience!

Wildlife Highlights: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, cheetah, hippos, crocodiles, wildebeest, zebra, antelope, gazelle, impala, waterbuck, topi, eland, plains game, giraffe, black and white rhino.

PACKAGE ITINERARY

DAY 1 - Arrival in Nairobi

You’ll be met at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our representative and transferred to the five-star Boma Hotel. You can have dinner at the hotel (not included) or at one of the many restaurants in Nairobi.

DAY 2 - Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Ranch

You’ll leave the hotel after breakfast and travel north to Mount Kenya, arriving at the Serena Sweetwaters Tented Camp. The camp is situated around a waterhole and features two rows of tents, which can be reached via a series of stone pathways, which wind through landscaped grounds. The camp has 39 luxury tents, each with its own en-suite bathroom (hot and cold running water, 24-hour hot showers and flushing WCs). All our tents have luxury canvas interiors, solid floors and separate thatched roofs. Fourteen tents are on raised platforms with private balconies, while the rest have private verandas, all with safari chairs and tables. Extra beds and cots can also be provided. Each tent features either a king-sized double bed or two twins. Mosquito nets are provided, as well as hot water bottles at night. Electricity is provided by 24-hour generator. Distance/drive time: 220km/3.5 hours

DAY 3 - On safari in Ol Pejeta

Enjoy an entire day exploring the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy with game drives, and vists to the rhino and chimpanzee sanctuaries. Optional activities include guided bush walks, bird watching, local community visits and so many more activities here.

DAY 4 - Ol Pejeta to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, you’ll drive south to Lake Naivasha in time for lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. The lodge spans 120 acres of lakeside land, most of which is covered in green riparian meadows that sweep down to the shores of the lake. A jetty has been built out onto the lake, from where you can the hippos in the lake and experience 360-degree views, which include Crescent Island, Mount Longonot, the Mau Escarpment and the misty outline of the Aberdares. The grounds are alive with a colourful selection of birds, and the trees with monkeys. Enjoy an afternoon crescent Island walk and boat ride in Lake Naivasha (included in the package) or kick back and relax at the lodge. Distance/drive time: 240 km/3.5 hours

DAY 5 - On safari in Lake Navasha

After breakfast, spend the day Lake Naivasha with a game drive in Hells Gate National Park. For the remainder of the day, you can relax at the lodge. You’ll have all your meals at Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

DAY 6 - Lake Naivasha to the Mara

After breakfast you’ll leave the lodge and continue up the floor of Rift to arrive in the famous Masai Mara National Reserve and at the Entim Camp. Enjoy lunch at the camp, which is located on the edge of the Mara River. In the afternoon, you’ll experience your first game-drive in the Mara. World renowned for the breath-taking spectacle of the greatest wildlife shows on earth, the awe-inspiring annual migration of the wildebeest, the Mara is Kenya’s most visited protected area. Technically an extension of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, the Mara constitutes only 4% of the entire Serengeti ecosystem but its rolling grasslands, meandering rivers and towering escarpments offer one of the world’s most rewarding and evocative wildlife arenas. You’ll return to the camp where you can relax on your private veranda, sip sundowners and then have dinner in the central restaurant. Distance/drive time: 365 km / 5.5 hours

DAY 7 - On safari in the Mara

You’ll spend the entire day on safari in the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. The camp offers a list of optional activities and facilities that are an excellent complement to your safari: a swimming pool, guided nature walks with an in-house naturalist, in-house cultural activities, sundowners, breakfast at the Hippo Pool with sparkling wine, bush and riverside dinners and massage services. All meals are at the Entim Camp.

DAY 8 - Mara into Tanzania and onto Lake Victoria

After breakfast, you’ll drive to the border cross between Kenya and Tanzania at Isabenia, and then continue to the shores of Lake Victoria, enjoying a picnic lunch on the way. You’ll check into Speke Bay Lodge where you’ll have dinner. Distance/drive time: 470 km / 8.5 hours

DAY 9 - Lake Victoria to Serengeti

After breakfast, you’ll set out to explore Lake Victoria with 1.5-hour canoe ride and visit to local fish village. Afterwards you’ll drive to the Serengeti National Park and Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp, which is scenically located in a glad, known as the place of the klipspringer (mbuzi mawe), and guarded by three-million-year-old granite towers. The camp is located on one of the main annual migration corridors. Enjoy lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive and then back to the camp for dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the camp. Distance/drive time: 250km / 5 hours

DAY 11 - To the Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge

After breakfast, you’ll go on a game drive as you leave the Serengeti with a packed picnic lunch and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge. Popularly known as the “Cradle of Mankind”, Olduvai is the site of one of the most important controversial Palaeolithic finds in recent history. You’ll arrive at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, a unique lodge clinging to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, in the late afternoon. Designed to blend completely into the landscape, it is entirely invisible from the floor of the Crater 600m below. You’ll have dinner at the lodge. Distance/drive time: 150 km/3 hours

DAY 12 - Ngorongoro to Arusha

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Arusha – to the foot of the wooded slopes of Mount Meru. Check-in to the Mount Meru Hotel, a modern hotel nestled against one of the most majestic backdrops. Lunch and the afternoon will be at your leisure. Later, enjoy dinner at the hotel. Distance/drive time: 223 km / 4.5 hours

DAY 13 - Depart

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
